Buddhism in Amsterdam

Buddhism in Amsterdam

The goal of Buddhism is a state of lasting, unconditional happiness known as enlightenment.

To bring us to this state, Buddhism points us to lasting values in this impermanent world, and gives us valuable information about how things really are. Through understanding the law of cause and effect, using practical tools like meditation to gain insight and develop compassion and wisdom, we — all of us — can tap into our potential to realize the ultimate goal of enlightenment.

Every Tuesday and Thursday evening a guided meditation is held, free of charge and freely accessible. In addition, lectures are regularly held on various Buddhist topics. In this way we want to offer easy acces to Buddhism in Amsterdam.

The center in Amsterdam has a young and international character, because in addition to a permanent group of Dutch people, there are also members from Poland, Russia, Hungary, Mexico and Germany. The center has an open structure and functions thanks to unpaid volunteer work, based on friendship and idealism.
